artist statement

The delicate, but intense, sound of bugs on a warm summer night and the smell of dirt--relationships are all of everything in my mind. The relationship between the atoms creating the cells creating you and the world around you--the delicate push and pull of protons and neutrons forming everything we know; human and animal relationships; human and technology; interpersonal relationships; you and your own physical body; you and your own mind--your memories, thoughts, emotions, and traumas. These are some of the relationships that form and inform my work. I examine these aforementioned relationships through performance, mixed media, and installation based artwork. I find myself enthralled with grasping for any and all sense of understanding of relationship and I use this longing for comprehension to fuel my practice.
